No one saw it coming.... after everything I indoored days prior to the 7th of August. Friday was like any other day! I had my routine packed down, did my routine walks, etc. I was getting ready for bed when out of nowhere, I started feeling warm. I didn’t pay much attention to my temperature since an hour prior, my amazing nurse Anita checked my vitals and everything was ok. After an hour of procrastinating, I paged my nurse to have her recheck my temp. Sure enough, what I dreaded was becoming reality. I had 102.6 fever. My fevers only escalated and lasted 5 days. During that time, I had TEST after TEST done to ensure I didn’t have any internal bleeding, lung infections, Any bacterial, or fungal infection in my blood stream. Days seemed months, once all the results came back negative it was such a relief.... I unfortunately, had Serum Sicknesses - not uncommon for someone that has gone through so much in such little time. Docs put me on high dose of steroids to stop the fevers - it was a success.

As of now my WBC, hemoglobin, Platelets are creeping up 👊🏼 and I haven’t had any fevers. However, the steroids have weakened my muscles and it’s difficult to walk. Thankfully my mother has been by my side and has encouraged me to go on walks everyday.
